Add ons to Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets are limited by the underlying spreadsheet provider themselves. Legacy spreadsheets were designed for numbers and simple text data, which fundamentally breaks for AI use cases.
We built a spreadsheet engine from the ground up, handling task execution, data storage, and UX in a totally new way.
Most 'spreadsheet' AI tools are actually 'tables' with a pretty front end. Ultimately this means you are limited to very small set of extraction and summarization tasks and have no easy way to build more complex AI tools like custom RAG (Retrieval Augment Generation) apps.
Melder has all the core spreadsheet functions/tools, so you can use it for most taks!
